Information we process
FERN Atlas and Atlas Docs AI process account details supplied through Clerk, including email address, name and profile image; your searches, research threads, cited sources, settings, usage and subscription status; and, in FERN Atlas, documents you upload for analysis. Atlas Docs AI does not accept uploads or request location for weather.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, provide and improve research answers, store your account workspace, prevent abuse, administer subscriptions, and provide support. We do not sell personal information or use your research threads or uploaded documents for advertising.
Service providers
We use Clerk for identity, Railway and PostgreSQL for application hosting and storage, Apple for in-app subscription transactions, and the AI, search, weather, and graph providers you select or that are enabled for the service. Your prompt, relevant research context, and document extracts may be sent to those providers to generate an answer. Atlas Docs AI sends accepted questions to its AI provider, web search, and ServiceNow-documentation search. Provider handling is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and choices
We retain workspace data while your account is active. You can delete individual searches in the app or delete your account from Settings → Account & Legal. Account deletion removes your account and associated workspace data, except limited records we must retain for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or security obligations. Apple subscription cancellation is managed in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Changes
We will publish changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes require renewed acceptance before continued use where required.
